Don't feel too bad. dA viewership is way down from two years ago. It had something to do with making photographers submit signed releases from their models for the sake of rights and under aged protection, so a lot of photographers left dA.

And a lot of people don't understand how to make this 'community' thing work by visiting other profiles and talking to people. Also not everybody speaks English so they will lurk/ your work but not say anything. They are the nice quiet company.

But whatever you choose to do, PLEASE don't scream at everybody to comment on your work over and over. I've removed some of my devWatches from people who resort to all sorts of "I'm so desperate for attention" pleas.
